Ileana Ros-Lehtinen served as a member of Congress representing South Florida for almost three decades. As a member of the House, she was assigned to the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. She became chairwoman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa.
