Senator Edward J. Markey has been representing Massachusetts since 2013. He has a long history in Congress, previously serving in the House of Representatives for 37 years. Senator Markey is involved in several committees, including the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation; the Committee on Environment and Public Works; the Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions; and the Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, where he serves as Ranking Member. He is also a member of the Subcommittee on Clean Air, Climate, and Nuclear Safety. Senator Markey is the author of some of the most important Wall Street reform laws since the Great Depression, including statutes that strengthened penalties against insider trading.
