Debbie Mucarsel-Powell served as a U.S. Representative for Florida's 26th Congressional District from 2019 to 2021. During her time in the House, she sat on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee and the House Judiciary Committee. She also served as Vice Chair of the House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, where she advocated for expanding background checks on gun sales. Mucarsel-Powell has also worked to increase investments in community violence intervention programs.
