From the frontlines of law enforcement to the frontiers of space, the Fiscal Year 2027 Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies bill covers a full spectrum of priorities that keep our nation safe, competitive, and prepared for the future. This wide policy scope, of course, matters – but clarity of mission and discipline in investments are ultimately what deliver results.
The measure before us is focused on the fundamentals – protecting the American people, enforcing the law, and investing in the capabilities that keep our nation secure and competitive. It right-sizes government while refocusing agencies on their core missions, ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent with purpose. It strengthens federal, state, and local law enforcement, combats fentanyl, and ensures our justice system has the tools to deliver accountability. And it reiterates security as its cornerstone – from the safety of our communities to the growing threats posed by cyber actors and transnational criminal networks, this bill ensures we are prepared to confront challenges wherever they arise.
We further protect U.S innovation from theft, reinforce export controls, and invest in the critical technologies that will define the future, including artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing. These priorities take direct aim at Communist China’s efforts to exploit our research and steal our ingenuity, while strengthening America’s economic and technological edge.
This is critically important. With the success of Artemis II, we saw America not just compete – but once again lead, push the boundaries of what is possible, and set the pace as the world watches. It’s why we continue to support innovation and NASA in this legislation to guarantee we keep making history. We do all of this while upholding discipline. We eliminate wasteful programs, end misguided policies, and ensure that government upholds the constitutional rights of the American people.
Everyone knows Chairman Rogers is a steady and driving force in appropriations. This bill reflects that leadership – delivering results that put public safety, responsibility, and American strength first.
